Arundel Castle Norman Knights Event, 15th September 2019

Norman Knights

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers... Shakespeare clearly had us in mind for this event...

The weather was more July than Autumnal and certainly brought out good numbers of visitors who staged through most of of the day.

Duke Henry Courtyard was the focus of the day, with Andy Mad Monk demonstrating in the Stone Hall. Everyone really stepped up, with interaction, show and tell and some really impressive combat.

Dan and John, hats off gentlemen some excellent archery, and full credit to Dan for clear commands and great shooting under pressure. We'll done both.

With four combatants it's draining and tiring with incredibly fast turn over of display, catching breath and then to start talking to public. Everyone did so well against the heat, in full maille with very eager families wanting to take photos of everyone. Not sure anyone drunk enough but the day seemed to go really quickly, clearly we were busy. Well done Squire Ulric (David Engelhardt) who really gave Baron Mark (Mark Goble) a good work out, excellent combat by both.

Great day, and huge thanks to everyone who was able to attend and support the day. Cheers guys, much appreciated
