Arundel Castle

Great first day at the castle, and 900 booked tickets sold over the day...

Strange atmospheric feeling I think lowered everyone's energy levels, got very humid for a while and it really needed a good storm to shift things (sadly tomorrow's forecast might be doing just that)...

Encampment looked great, plenty going on demonstration wise, and enhanced by Colin from Lionheart Replicas (pewter casting), and Kevin from Plessis Armourer (mail making)...

Impromptu tournament following the archery (sorry guys) look really good and did lift the 100 or so visitors spirits somewhat, although Sir Stefan de Bec proved as popular as ever...

Few photos courtesy of Squire David to wet your appetites for what Clare will add when she has sorted...

So day two up at Arundel and the dreaded 'R' word was forecast...

Although less visitors into the encampment still another 1000 came through the gates throughout the day... All full of praise for everything they had seen and taken part in...

The encampment once a gain looked great, and a huge thank you to everyone for clearly putting effort into dressing their tables, having static displays and creating a very historical look (Brad even Wentworth as far as to have authentic poo smell, although we suspects that may have been something his car had driven through)...

Huge thank you to Morag, and all who assisted her, great team effort there folks...

We'll done to everyone who participated in combat and archery, great displays all around there...

Well deserved (and long overdue) knighthood to Sam Miller, who joins the Knights of St John, the Hospitillars, at least when in the arena...

And Top Banana Award to Squire Gavin, some awesome fighting, dying and winning, very well done mate...

Top 'I'd Like a Tent Display Like That' goes to our very own House Elf Master Brad (and some very impressive shooting as well mate)...

Always good to be joined by Hawking About (cheers Kev for helping with stakes and bunting), and great to add Kev from Plessis and Colin from Lionheart Replicas...

Tremendous work from Reach the Core, Bowstrings Archery, Myal and Peg, and Clare Goidall...

Thanks to all of them for their support...
