Arundel Castle 12,000 Years of Combat, 27th - 29th August 2022

Arundel Castle

Arundel Castle Festival of History August 2022

And that, ladies and gentlemen, I think was the best multiperiod event we have had at the castle.

You all did your respective historical period proud, both display and and costume wise, and certainly some of the arena combat displays were some of the best I have seen.

Always interesting working within other groups, adapting to fighting styles, and everyone has their own own ways to doing things. You did the group proud folks.

Highlights, so many, just a few to share.

Jack and Martin from Wessex, one of the best fights I have ever seen (seriously).

The Barons Blitzkrieg on Saxons and Wessex on Monday.

Sir Stephen Beck (House) becoming Baron Westleigh (well deserved, long planned, and the smile on his face was priceless).

Displays wise and visitor interaction was, fantastic folks.

Special mention to David and Izzy for their Bronze Age display, awesome.

Thanks to everyone for allowing Morag and Courtney (sorry Baroness Courtney) to have some time away from the cooking.

As we all know they work so hard during the year that one event off is well deserved, and is a small reward to show appreciation for the all that they do.
