Saturday 5 April Day One

Stone Age through to the Norman's

Very good first day, glorious weather and 50 visitors who were genuinely interested in what was going on.

Welcome return to combat to Hircus (Dan), who really impressed everyone retiarius kit and fighting wise, well done fella.

Very well done to Tom L, first combat demo, moved and did really well.

And to Ki, blooming awesome young lady, moved well and put on a very good demo of Iron Age combat.

All in all, a very good first day, and huge thanks to all you attended and took part.

Day 2 Weather gods stayed with us and another excellent day at the villa.

Return of Petrus (Peter Cooke) as Secutor, new addition of Lupus (Steve House), return to combat of Canis (Sy Garrod) really added to the heat in the arena. plenty of videos to follow from Jane and John, thanks to both, of some excellent combat. Stave fighting (its more than spear fighting so I'm going call it that) great addition to the combat. Well done to all whom participated in the combat both today, and yesterday, as its been really enjoyable to watch.

40 visitors through the paying gates today, and again the afternoon crowd were more interactive.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated and supported the two days at the villa, really successful first event if the season and plenty to take forward throughout the year.
