Arundel Castle Skirmish, 24th - 26th May 2025

Arundel Castle 15th century Skirmish

Day 1

Visitors certainly were weather watching today and as it was so changeable 1300 passed through the gates although some very engaging chats, and very supportive on the crowd line.

Grey and overcast day following overnight rain, and wind picked up in the afternoon, but I'll take dry which was the main thing

Very good first day combat wise, and really impressed at the effort everyone had made table display wise

Huge thank you to Morag for a great spread of food on day one, and to Courts and Stephen for adding to the shopping and catering support

Huge thanks to Steph for supplying the bulk of today's photo's, some great action shots

Really good seeing people trying out new things, and the living history developing and increasing

Well done to everyone who attended and supported the day, roll on tomorrow and hopefully more visitors

Day 2

Weather gods certainly perked up from yesterday, and over 1800 visitors passed through the gates

Another very good day combat and display wise, and lots of positive feedback from visitors at all they had seen and taken part in

Final day tomorrow, but already a successful event with Wessex Medieval Alliance and Company of St Barbara

Skirmish Day 3

Final day of the Bank Holiday Weekend and what a day it was

2200 visitors through the gates making it around 5300 visitors over the three days, we'll take that, especially seeing how changeable the weather forecast had been

Everything seemed to come together over the course of the day to produce another really successful and enjoyable weekend

Well done to all for making the encampment look so good, and all the arena displays came together both combat, archery and guns Really impressive finish to the three day event
