Medieval Midhurst

Medieval Midhurst

Saturday 2 May

12th century Two years in the discussion and planning, and not without alot hurdles to say the least but resulting in one of the most successful historical events the town has ever had.

Publicity came up trumps with over 155,000 hits, and an estimated 5000+ footfall over the 4 hours!

Huge thanks to those who participated in the day, think the numbers took everyone by surprise, a tremendous effort from all involved, and high praise from the Town Council Organiser.

Huge respect and thanks to Gavin and Chris who carried the combat over 8 combat displays over 2 sessions, lasting around 12 minutes each session (which is as much as some full turn out displays at other events).

Seriously gentlemen, top effort, very well done, and great to watch.

The weather gods really were with us, and a beautiful sunny day until 245pm.

As we wrapped up and headed off the heavens began to open, by 315pm Torrential rain as I headed South.

In fairness after last two events I think we were owed a dry one.

Thanks to Glenn, Jane C and Harrison for contributing to today's photos and videos.

Well done to all for being part of a very successful event, and for upholding the groups good name and reputation...
