Fishbourne Roman Palace, 20th - 21st June 2026

Stone Age to Georgian

Fishbourne Roman Palace

Day 1

Excellent first day at the Palace, with a good flow of interested visitors who were pretty vocal around arena as well.

Huge thanks to everyone who attended and participated today, some excellent fighting, crafting and table displays from all.

Thanks to Jane for contributing to the photos, but for doing the videos which will be a seperate post. Drizzy start, into great and overcast but ended the day in sunshine with a hearty barbecue hosted by the Palace Manager.

Cheers Sasha for the lemon drizzle cake, it really was delicious.

Onwards to tomorrow, and forecast is looking scorchy.

Day Two

Well forecast sure wasn't wrong as it was a hot one.

I arrived at 8am and it already was a steamy 22, and heat cranked up to at least 30 at one point.

Huge thanks to all who endured the heat to put on some excellent combat displays, and endured sitting in the sunshine doing craft displays... To those in the shade and cool of the Palace, your time will come.

Good flow of visitors today, and plenty of visitor engagement from all.

Been an endurance with the number of events so far, and another two weekends to go.

Well done to those staying the course, and hanging on to fragile sanity.
